Brief
The client had a terrace garden directly outside their patio doors, ideal for outdoor living. However the existing space was decrepit and un fit for purpose, with rotting deck boards and dated features. They were looking for an updated, clean, contemporary space to dine and relax in, that would feel like an extension of their living space.
Design Solution
We completely gutted the space, including the metal balustrade, and started from scratch. Strong architectural lines were used to break up the space, creating several defined areas. Raised beds helped further define these spaces, added structure to the design and allowed for planting to be brought in to soften the space.
A raised composite deck surrounded by planting created a softer area for relaxing and the metal balustrades were replaced with glass ones to open up the space and provide a contemporary feel.
